A Perfect Verdict
Well, if you have been watching the news lately, you would have seen at least a bit of coverage of the Casey Anthony trial where a mother potentially faced the death penalty for the supposed murder of her 2 year old daughter. Unfathomable. Well, we heard yesterday that the mother was found not guilty on all felony charges, and only convicted on 4 misdemeanor counts of providing false information to law enforcement officers. Regardless of whether you think she is guilty or not guilty, it's somewhat scary to think that someone's entire future can be determined by 12 human jurors, who are fully capable of making wrong decisions and judgment calls. Leaving my opinions of the trial aside, I am so glad that when we sit in front of our Creator, our Lord, we will not be subject to the judgment of broken people who can interpret evidence inaccurately. We will have the opportunity to stand in front of God and know that all judgments made on our life here on this earth will be 100% true. If we choose to love Him, ask Him to be the Lord of our life, and to ask Him to forgive us for our sins, we will be set free and have eternal life with God. There will be no mistakes, false convictions, or even unjust freedom. Not only are we blessed to have this perfect judge/jury, but we also don't have to receive the sentence that we deserve. We are all guilty of sin, but we can be forgiven and made flawless in the eyes of God. So, if you know Jesus, and love Him, "be still and know that (He) is God" (Psalm 46:10). We have been set free by a perfect judge.
