Purpose and Principle

I would be the first person to admit that my life up to this point has been a pretty blessed one. I was born into a good family, my parents are still together to this very day, I have a wonderful wife, daughter, and a son on the way, etc... Yeah, just like anyone, not everything has been perfect, but what I'm saying is that I have been given a pretty good hand. I've never wanted for food that wasn't there, nor have I been left in the cold without a roof over my head.

As I am about to turn 29 this week, I'm extremely thankful for God's blessings. As I get closer to 30, and watch my family grow, I feel a much larger sense of responsibility that has been put in front of me. Not responsibility in the sense of added stress, but responsibility in the sense of purpose and principal. I watch my parents care for my grandparents in their older age, and I know that it is biblical for a man and wife to care for not only their children, but for their family as a whole.

As our generation grows into the one's that will be driving our society, it's important that we keep a perspective on who we try to care for and who we desire to please in life. Do we want to please ourselves, or those that rely on us the most?

Just a thought.

I hope you all have a great week.
