This past Sunday, my family and I went to a California Baptist University choir concert. Each February, this outstanding choir comes to our church and puts on quite a performance. I have to admit that going to a choir concert was something that I was not raised doing. I was much more interested in to baseball, basketball, etc...you know, the major American sports. But, after having gone to a few of these concerts, it has really opened my mind to an entirely different "hobby", I guess you could call it, that is taken very seriously by many people.
It got me to thinking about how many other things are out there in the world that people take interest in that I have never been exposed to. I began to ask myself, "what other interests do people have who are different than me?" The fact is, God has given everyone so many different talents. Going to this concert made me really appreciate the differences in people in this world. I really do believe that if we can look to find ways to appreciate the differences in others around us, it will allow us to understand and love one another on a better level. I believe a lot of disagreements, broken families, and lost friendships, to name a few things, could be minimized if we made a choice to try and take interest in what is going on in the lives of the people around us. We all have our own goals and desires that are important to us for one reason or another. Let's not diminish what is important to the people around us.
