The Realm of Peace

How many times have we seen it in this world? Someone goes through a hard time in life, whether it's the loss of a family member, the loss of a seasoned business in today's economy, or whatever it may be, and copes with these unfortunate circumstances by turning his/her back on God, either purposefully or inadvertently. It's so common, and I think in one way or another, we have all done it. The interesting thing about this is that the individual going through the tough time clearly wants things to get better, and needs more peace in life. But, for some reason, we have all wanted peace, have then turned from God, and then wondered why we are let down with "unanswered prayers."

It's scary how the devil can work like this. Satan will find us in a vulnerable situation based upon the current circumstances in life, and tells us that it's somehow God's fault, that the way to make the pain go away is to blame God and move away from Him. But that's the polar opposite of the truth. We know that we want peace so badly, but that God can't possibly give us peace outside of Him, because it doesn't exist. Outside of God, peace and ultimate joy is not present. In this society, with the changes that are taking place in our country, we will need to hold fast to the truth that our only peace and happiness is in God. Let's not look for it anywhere else.
