For the past two weeks, the pastor at my church has preached on abiding by the lows that govern our country. Many of the topics discussed all centered around the biblical principles that we must abide by the laws of our country, unless they explicitly are against the laws of God. Overall, the two week series has been good.
These sermons have led me to remember a conversation I had with my wife a couple of weeks ago. She reminded me how we are held to a higher calling and structure of the laws given to us by God Himself. It got me to think of the depth of God's relentless power and knoweledge. From the time that Jesus resurrected from the dead, a new law has been in place that is completely perfect. It's amazing to me that if we follow the laws of God, we will in turn, be following the laws of the land too.
As simple as the concept may seem at first glance, it amazes me how God's original creation is always the best. No matter how hard we try to justify certain things, our life will always have more contentment when we follow God's laws. I want to get to a point where I can completely trust God and know that when I do this, my life will be better. The grass is really never greener on the other side from Christ.
