Well, this week is off to an exciting start for me. I just started a brand new job were I'll be working with my incredibly close friends as we start a solar photovoltaic division at their roofing company. I feel like I've finally arrived at a place where I've wanted to be for a long time. For the three of us, it's really a dream come true.
But, starting my first day on this new challenge makes me think of all of the people who helped me get to this point in my profession. My dad has been a great business leader that I have looked up to for a long time. My professsors at PLNU, my past employers, etc...have given so much time to me in the recent years.
In comparing business to our life in Christ, I have finaly come to ultimately realize that as an individual, our potential will never be met unless we have outstanding mentors in place to show us how to get from point A to point B. Mentors are the people in our lives that show us the necessary steps to achieve goals that require us to enter into uncharted waters. Without, my dad, I wouldn't have known where to begin in the world of contracting. My wife, my dad ,and my brother, among others, also happen to be my mentors in my spiritual life as well. The point I want to make this week is that if you don't have a mentor in your profession, or walk with the Lord, you really need to seek one out. Discipleship, as Jesus exemplified, is really the only way to acheive ultimate success in this world. It teaches us the path to achieving our goals while giving us a humble heart.
