Eden Noel Young, my brother and sister-in-law's baby girl is due to be born today, September 3, 2009. It seems like it was only a month or two ago when they told our family they were going to be having a baby. It's on days like today where you sit back and reflect upon the person you want to become. I know my brother and sister-in-law are probably thinking similar things at this very moment. The last few hours before having thier little girl in this world. What a great day.
Sometimes in life we are given events that take place that have the ability make a decision or to re-empahsize the person who we want to be in life, and the role models we want to be for our children. These moments, at times, can be trials, or blessings. In this rough economy, this might have come in the form of losing a job. For my brother and his wife, it's becoming parents--something I know for 100% certainty they will excell at.
So, my challenge is to have all of us examine our lives and see what things there are in our lives that we can use to drive us to become better people. God brings monumental events into our lives with the hope that we will step up to the challenge, because He never gives us more than we can handle.
Eden, I love you already.
