Control

I don't know about you, but everyday when I go to work, I think of the possibilities of running my own business at some point in my life...I guess it's the entrepreneur in me. The idea of being in control of my own financial destiny and schedule is so appealing. Who wouldn't want that opportunity?
I believe that most of us, if not all of us, at times, take this same perspective into our faith and relationship with the Lord. We want to control our own destiny, and because of this, we often push Him to the side when life seems like it's under plenty of control by our own efforts. But, we relentlessly run back to Him when we seem to lose control and when areas of our lives turn sour. We use Jesus as the protective shield a corporation might give a business owner. He is there for protection, but other than that, we are in full control.
I challenge us this week to allow Jesus to not only be our protective shield, but our consultant and partner in life as well. Even more so, allow Him to be in charge, and follow His calling in your life through prayer, fasting, and faith. It will change the way you make decisions. It will give you peace and hope in any area of your life.
