Absolute

If you know me or have ever been in a realatively meaningful conversation with me, you know that I'm a fairly black or white, right or wrong type of person. The older I get, I see this isn't necessarily the case in every situtaion, or really any situation, for that matter. However, I miss the days when I was a kid when I had the guidance from my parents to give me a defined "yes" or "no" response when I would ask them a question.
I feel that there is really nothing in our lives anymore that is aboslute, yes or no. Every person I look up to and respect in my life has some level of absolutes set in place. Rather they are set in place because of their own personal experiences, or because they have been told so by an outside voice, I'm not entirely sure. Regardless, I think our society can use people who will stand firm in what they believe, and not even necessarily with regard to spiritual faith. I believe our society can use strong christian men and women who will be consistent and reliable, without questioning and wavering upon every last decision or opinion.
I want to challenge all of us to stand our ground in our faith, in a loving way, and be that person people will run to in a time of crisis--someone who can always be counted on. Our society needs strong, consistent love. It starts with you.
