Summer is just around the corner, I've been able to feel it in the weather the past few days. When the weather is turning the corner from spring to summer, it makes me look forward to the weekend days at the beach and the warm summer nights after surfing at sunset. Summer is my favorite time of year.
Like anyone else in their childhood, I remember counting down the days until summer break. I would long for the summer days of wiffle ball with my brother and the neighborhood friends. These are some of the best memories of my youth.
And as I've gotten older, I still love the summer and everything that comes with that time of year. But, just like every other part of my life, I've learned to be still and see God's blessings in all seasons of life. Through the change of the weather as well as the triumphs and trials of life. Regardless of where I'm at in life, I find it so peaceful to be able to be still and accept the love of God at all times.
I've learned (and still am learning everyday) that true peace and hope come from having a relationship with Jesus Christ. There is no point in life that we will reach where we will be able to do life on our own. There is no bliss that is better than the love of Christ. And the good news is that the love of Christ is not seasonal...it's with us all year around if we'll accept it.
