Endless Love

Jesus Lord of heaven, oh I do not deserve
The grace that You have given, and the promise of Your word
Lord I stand in wonder, of the sacrifice You made
Mercy beyond measure, my debt you freely paid

Your love is deeper, than any ocean higher
Than the heavens reaches, beyond the stars in the sky
Jesus Your love has no bounds

…words to a Phil Wickham song that has been ringing in my ears the past few days. I’ve listened to this song on and off for months on end, only to be struck with a deeper understanding the past few weeks. All throughout my life, I’ve known of Jesus’ endless love and insurmountable grace. I’ve been told, and I believe, that God forgives even the deepest of sins. But for one reason or another, it hit me just recently, through a series of events, that regardless of what I have done in my life, the doubts I’ve had, the struggles that have been faced, the decisions that have been made, that God has a plan for my good—for OUR good.

Now more than ever, I’ve come to see that God’s love is not limited by our finite nature. God’s plan is not destroyed by our doubts, but, for those who deeply love Him, it is further manifested, confirmed, and bettered. Truly, where sin increases, grace abounds all the more. That’s reality.

It’s so comforting to know that when we have a faith and love for Jesus Christ, there is nothing that we can do separate ourselves from the love of God. There is nothing that can separate us from the swarming love of the Holy Spirit. It’s calming to know that we worship a God whose love is not based on anything we do, or any emotions He has toward us that might waver from time to time. We have perfect love waiting for us everyday when we wake up. There is endless grace knocking at our doors for those who love Him.

So, whatever is taking place in your life, just know that God’s plan is good. Know that God loves you, and there is nothing you can do to change that. Nothing.
